Actually, funnily enough, Argonians are one of the few boobed non-mammals that DON’T bother me, simply because of the lore behind them.

If I recall, there are actually like a fuckton of different types of Argonians that vary in ways from just what kind of lizard/whatever they are to how humanoid they can be. Pretty much how humanoid they appear depends on how much Hist treesap they ingest as babies?

So essentially it’s all very superficial and is basically like ‘Oh humans have boobs? Guess I got boobs then lol’

Granted, I guess there could be an issue in that boobed lady Argonians(Who also apparently can change their gender throughout their lifetime? ARGONIANS ARE WEIRD, MAN) are the only ones that we ever see in-game, but overall..

I mean, they’re boobs, yeah, but it’s not like you’ve got scantily clad(Unless you want them to be), constantly jiggling funbag abominations going on. They’re just regular ol’ boobs. Er, sort of. Lizard boobs, but fantasy lizard boobs.

Boobs in themselves do not have to equal sexualization. They’re just freaking boobs. For that matter, sexy /=/ bad.

The boobs become a problem when they’re blatantly sexualized in such a way that ends up being creepy and demeaning. Like, when you basically only notice boobs, there’s a problem. Or when they’re present despite, you know, completely going against something’s canon or just doesn’t make sense, at all, whatsoever.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely a problem in the video game industry(and pretty much everywhere else) with sexism, mostly with the constant need for ALL major female characters to always be sexy no matter what(Looking at you, Bioware).

Buuut I wouldn’t say that Elder Scrolls and Argonians are part of that problem.

Also with the picture of those custom female yautja figures in the original post… Yautja females do canonically have breasts, but with how yautja mouths are set up there’s actually nothing too strange about the idea of breast feeding unless you assume they’re born with razor sharp teeth and vice-like strength.

It also doesn’t hurt that in official descriptions, yautja females dwarf males and are anything but lady-like despite the tits. They’re big momma bears who are extraordinarily violent and dangerous, and capable of accidentally throwing males across the room in the throes of passion. It’s fanart from people who don’t like that that paints them as thin and sexy-like. Usually from women with monster man fetishes and men who are a bit… “That’s stupid! Men should be bigger and stronger, yautja are the epitome of testosterone and manliness!” So take that for what you will.

Right, because I’ve still got three dismantled predator bodies to use and my Dachande custom all plotted out, carved, washed, and drying to be primed and painted tomorrow or in a few days, I started working on a pred who’s based on birds. His skin body’s colors will be based loosely on a golden pheasant, while his armor is based loosely on a grey cockatiel.

This is more or less what the head will look like. I only have some tiny touch-ups to do on the mask and “neck” then that part’s done. His base coat will be that darkish yellow with some teal accents. And I’m debating whether or not to give him a red belly-chest area like the real golden pheasants have. I’m also debating whether or not to paint his tresses a dark red.

His armor will be this dark silver color, possibly with some white accents. Opinions are more than welcome, since this guy’s not being based on a pre-existing character.

Daylight group shots of the customs so far. Front view, left to right from oldest to latest. (I count Tarantulas as older than Moneyshot because the only things that didn’t come before her were his arms. And technically she could still be considered a WIP, since she has a number of areas to touch up with paint and I’m considering getting a Bumblebee to make a better face for her with since Arcee’s wound up so tiny after shaving.) Obviously, reversed in the back view. Maybe later I’ll upload the detailed shots of all of them… But for now, I’ll just grab Prime Tarantulas’ and make another post of him.

Welp, there’s that. Tetswei is done being painted. (For now.) And his armor’s all clear coated up. Everything that was able to clip into place without being glued back on is left unglued for easy removal later should I get an airbrush to add his stripes with. And his head isn’t actually attached at the ball joint yet, first I’m giving the glue 24 hours or so to finish drying to hold his tresses and mask on. Tomorrow I’ll be sure to get some daylight photos of him and TFP Tarantulas, whose arms are carved and painted as of tonight.

Progress so far on Tetswei. Though now I realize I forgot to get his kneepads and smart disk in the shots. None of the armor is actually connected to him yet aside from his gauntlets, it’s just pegged on to give a general idea of how it looks.

The only things that will be black in the end will be the straps holding his pauldrons on, his thong, his gloves, his neck piece, the netting when I paint the molded netting again, and his finger/toe nails. I’m debating whether or not to paint his laser grid holster black or the grids themselves, to make them more accurate to how they appeared in AvP: Requiem. I’m also debating whether to bother trying to paint on his original incarnation’s stripes, since the netting is going to make it a huuuuge pain in the ass.

His armor will be vibrant red, I’m going to be getting strips of purple cloth to make into his loin cloth hanging down from behind his tasset piece’s crotchplate and rear, and then his tresses will be red-brown with silver rings. Or rather, “leadbelcher” rings. Then I plan to clear coat all the armored parts with gloss, and the leather/his skin with flat. … This will come before the loin cloth is added. And as for why the shoulder cannon has been placed on his gauntlet instead… It’s based on the energy flechette as seen in Predator 2 and the Aliens vs Predator 2: Primal Hunt video game.

Any opinions on alternative colors or ideas are welcome.

And I realize how easily I can not only make Tetswei but also remake his son who had been so god damned bland and blank slate personality-wise in the past. I’m also noticing how very, very easy it would be to make a custom of 1989 Dachande when NECA releases its new Classic with the new line’s articulation.

I’m also thinking “wow, I’m going to have a number of spare predator parts. If I wanted, I could even use them to make a custom of my she-pred OC Lal’Rekya. … IF TOYS EXISTED OF WOMEN WITH AMAZONIAN BARBARIAN PROPORTIONS! Wow, this search is useless. I’m getting a bunch of Xenas and Wonder Womans. Sure, they’re great. But I need somebody Herculean in size. Yautja women are HUGE and POWERFUL, and I am not gonna re-imagine her into some wimpy little stick shorter than the males.”

Sooooo… Anybody know of any female characters with a build at least vaguely similar to this who might have toys of themselves out there on the internet? Bigger may also be acceptable. But mamma is a fucking bear.

Fun fact… In the old expanded Universe, predator blood had a rejuvenative effect on humans and greatly extended their life spans. In Aliens vs Predator: Eternal, a Japanese man who had found a crashed predator ship during the Feudal Era survived all the way into the near future building an empire on reverse engineering technology and keeping himself alive by luring in lone hunters and putting them in trap situations to get their meat and blood. So I wonder how it might effect a vampire. Though I doubt you’d get the pred going vamp.

I’m always curious to see an artist’s own takes on a predator/yautja or a djinn/genie.

Who?

Species, not characters. Yautja are the hunter aliens from the Predator movies and the AvP comics/novels/video games. Djinn are African/Middle Eastern spirits with free will who walk all ways of life and who got adopted into Islam as a sort of brother species to mankind that was of a more supernatural variety. Djinni is the singular, djinn is plural, the word got westernized into “genies.”

Djinn come in all shapes and sizes pretty much literally… Ghuls, the origin of the term ghoul, could even take a form that was akin to a cycloptic ostriche. But for some pred examples… They’ve actually got an insane amount of variety to their phenotypes, body types, armor of choice, and even undergarments. So this is more of a surface scraping.

It does seem generally more accepted, culturally, for women to fall for all kinds of different body types. Doesn’t stop it from being any less stupid of course. But it’s also kind of strange… I’ve actually noticed this in a few different scifi fandoms. But pretty much every “monsterous” alien species seems to have a large sexual fanbase of heterosexual women and homosexual men. Be it turians, the yautja from Predator/AvP, or the sangheili/elites from Halo. Which is kind of interesting to ponder on. (Though as a heterosexual male, I would totally tap a she-pred. Not sure on turians…)

… WV? (Also, sorry but gotta say it… “Holy Maker why would anybody outside of Dragon Age ever actually use the phrase ‘holy Maker?’”) And eh, I’d imagine much for the same reason some people cross over anything. If it counts for anything, based on what we do know about them the yautja don’t even have a concept of love or monogamy and find the idea of interspecies relations to be a heinously disgusting fetish akin to bestiality, so the person can’t play preds for shit either. Not that many people can. Most try to turn them either into tribal He-Men or misunderstood romantics who love some human poon.

PS: Personally I LOVE seeing people’s fan-characters for a series. But hate it so much when they start pairing their character up with canon ones. Especially if the canon ones have any canon relationships going or implied. Feels disrespectful to the source material.
